A way for me to remember some of the better things I found this week on the web. Feel free to follow along.
Inspiration
Paper and Pencil – Great iPad app and stylus, not to mention a really good looking website too.
Beautiful Web Type – A “showcase of the best typefaces from the Google web fonts directory,” assembled by Chad Mazzola.
Plugins
Duplicate Post – Don’t know why this isn’t part of WordPress core yet, but it should be. (Joomla has had this for years now!)
White Label CMS – I’ve already been using some of this plugin’s features in a core functionality mu-plugin, but White Label brings extra value and features to the table, so to speak.
Resources
Free Web Style Guide PSD Template – Rafal Tomal posted a download link for and explanation of his web style guide template. I have yet to use it in a project, but from what I’ve seen it looks like it would be a good thing to start using.
Bootstrapping Design – I bought and read this book last weekend. Good, concise information for website builders (designer/developer hybrids like myself).
Good UI – Currently thirty-two good ideas on this page, all related to building a better user interface.
Custom Metaboxes and Fields for WordPress – updated to v1.0.0 just a couple days ago, with some very nice improvements, especially repeatable fields and displaying metabox fields on the frontend. I use CMB in several plugins I’ve written and in the core functionality plugin that is included in every site I build – highly recommended!
